"The Right Prescription for Comfort"

If you're the proud owner of a garbage disposal, it's inevitable that at some point or another, it will get clogged. However, there are a few simple things you can do to try and unclog your system before having to give your friends at Mitch Wright Plumbing a call!

Get a good look. Grab a flashlight and take a good look down the disposal to see if you can pinpoint what is causing the issue.

Kill the power. There should be a electrical power switch located under your sink around the area of hte disposal or on a nearby wall. If not, you may want to consider going to the main panel and turning off the breaker.

Remove visable item. If you can see what's causing the clog, grab a pair of pliers to remove the object. NEVER stick your hand down the disposal!

Get mixing. If you can't see an object that seems to be causing the issue, it could be in the pipes. Pour half a box of baking soda in the side of the sink where the disposal is located and the other half in the other side. Next, pour white vinegar into both sides, but more on the side of the disposal. Let the mixture soak for 30 minutes and then clean with hot water. This may do the trick.

Call the professionals. Can't seem to fix the issues? Thats where Mitch Wright comes in. Give us a call! We will be there in no time to get your garbage disposal running properly.
