"It was a sad day for our family as we prepared to host the celebration my mother-in-laws life. We discovered a leak under the kitchen sink just hours before 30 friends and family were to be in our home. Mitch pulled a good man (Randy) off the job he was headed to. 30 minutes before we arrived home to enjoy the laughter, tears, and wonderful memories of my mother-in-law’s life, Randy completed the job and left the kitchen in better shape than before the leak.Thank you Mitch and Randy." -Mark

"Joe H was sent out to run a camera through my pipes. He did wonderful explaining to me what he saw. Mitch Wright Plumbing was very professional and knowledgeable. I would recommend them for all plumbing needs." -Carol

"A heating and a/c unit stopped heating. Called the office - Tommy was dispatched and at the house in about 1 hour. He identified the problem and options. Pierce came out and along with Tommy reviewed the problem, options and pricing. We decided to replace the unit which was done the next day. Carlos and Reno did an excellent job on the installation. Overall timely, professional, personal, courteous, and excellent work done by all. Thank you!!!" -Diane

"Recently we were in need of a repair to our AC system. Wes was sent to help us out. What a wonderful gentleman. He took care of the problem and made sure that we were pleased with everything he did. He was sure to inform us of everything he was doing and how long it should take to repair. He would be welcome in our home at any time. Thanks for taking care of us." -Charlotte

"The girls who answered the phone are very nice and professional. When Jeremy came in to work on our sink he was very helpful with explaining what he thought the problem was. He was very knowledgeable and tried everything he could before having to take the next step that could have cost up to $300+ more for the visit. Thankfully Jeremy was able to save the day and get the drain cleared out and the water flowing correctly. If we ever have plumbing issues again, Jeremy is going to be our go to guy!" -Brandy

"Mitch Wright was great to work with when my water heater leaked and caused damage. When I called them I received instant service. I would recommend them to anyone who has plumbing problems. Thank you Mitch Wright!" -Carol

"When my wife, myself, and our 7 month old returned home one evening after work we noticed our heater had stopped working. The temperature in our home was low 60's, 63 to be exact, and my wife was freezing, the weather has just turned to almost freezing for the first time this year. Worried about our son we got on the ball and started looking at companies in Southaven. We were referred to another company and left a voicemail that evening waiting for a call the next day. The next day rolled around and I waited for a call but did not receive it. I called the number back around 9am, eager to get something done that morning in order to fix it. The woman who picked up said she received my voicemail but the holidays were keeping them busy. I told her I would call her back and I googled heating in the Southaven area, Mitch's number popped up immediately. The difference was night and day from the initial call. The customer service rep was extremely professional on the phone and took the lead on my query. I told her I would be ready about noon and she even called me around 10am to inform me someone could stop by because they were in my area, which I appreciated very much. My wife informed me that the technician seemed extremely knowledgable and understanding of our situation and our baby and told us that they would have even came out last night. Thanks to the team there we were back up and running in no time. Thanks for everything, you guys were great." -John

Keep Your House Dry During Spring and Summer Travel

"The Right Prescription for Comfort"

With warm weather on the rise, it's no doubt that you'll be planning plenty of fun in the sun this spring and summer. Before you embark on the vacation, be sure to prepare your property for your absence to avoid the chance of undected leaks and flooding while you're away.

At Mitch Wright, we know how frustrating it can be to deal with a leaky situation. Follow these simple steps to help prevent water damage while you're on vacation!

Look for leaks. Check the plumbing in your home from top to bottom for evidence of existing leaks and have them repaired immediately. Carefully investigate the pipes under every sink and check your water heater for suspicious cracks or rust spots. Be sure to check the hoses to your major appliances as well.

Clean out gutters. Make sure to clear out any leaves or debris from your gutters. Although clogged gutters have no direct correlation to plumbing issues, if runoff from your roof has nowhere to go it may cause damage to the roof that can ultimately lead to leaks, and i cases of heavy precipitation, flooding.

Find a house sitter. The best way to make sure that your house remains water-damage-free while you enjoy your vacation is to recruit someone to check on your home while you're away. Even the slowest drip can produce thousands of dollars in damage if left unnoticed. If a family member or close friend agrees to check in a few times throughout the week, any leaks can be detected early enough to minimize, if not eliminate, the potential for costly water damage. In case of an emergency, make sure that your designated house sitter knows where the water main is located, and has contact information for Mitch Wright, your vacation spot and your insurance agent.

Turn off the water main. Regardless of whether you have recruited a trusty house-sitter, it is always a good idea to make sure that the main water valve has been turned off and all pipes have been drained before you depart. This is especially recommended if you plan to be away for great lengths of time. To drain all pipes, run the water in each faucet and flush all toilets until the water runs outs.

Bonus Tip: Look into a leak detection system. If you are a frequent traveler, it may be beneficial to purchase a system that identifies leaks within your home, automatically triggering your water main to turn off. This can eliminate unpleasant (wet) surprises upon your return.

Mitch Wright Plumbing, Heating and Air is here to help you in case you find yourself with a plumbing nightmare upon your return from vacation! For more information, visit us on Facebook or at www.mitchwrightair.com.
